2021 Wall Calendar
The Classic FM 2021 Wall Calendar features 12 musical illustrations by Rosie Brooks inspired by the seasons, as well as the birthdays of over 40 of our favourite composers.
Each month features a different piece of music, linked with the month. Throughout the year you will also find all key UK holidays and birthdays of over 40 composers, along with their year of birth.
What to expect from your Classic FM 2021 wall calendar:
The year starts with Strauss’s By The Beautiful Blue Danube, a favourite from the Vienna New Year's Concert. As you waltz through to February, we’ll get you into the mood for Valentine’s day with one of the most romantic arias from Puccini’s La Bohème. To mark the start of spring, we have a Classic FM Hall of Fame favourite, The Lark Ascending, and as Easter approaches you’ll find choristers singing Handel’s Messiah. The summer months feature the beautiful Flower Duet from Delibes Lakmé, Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony, and Handel’s Xerxes, and we pay tribute to Greig’s birthday in June with his dramatic Piano Concerto in A minor. As the seasons change and leaves fall from the trees, there is perhaps no piece more appropriate than Autumn from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. For Halloween – you guessed it – it’s Saint-Saëns’s Dance Macabre. As the temperature drops and nights become longer, we share our favourite scenes from Swan Lake, and lastly, as the year draws to a close, we turn on the lights in the Classic FM studio to wish you a very happy Christmas.

“It has been such an amazing experience collaborating with Classic FM and Global’s Make Some Noise. I have listened to Classic FM since the first day it broadcast and it is always on in the background in my studio whilst I am drawing. I was thrilled when asked to create illustrations for the Hall of Fame jigsaw puzzle, helping the brilliant Make Some Noise charity to raise money and support those in need. Life is tougher than ever for so many people at the moment and music has a beautiful way of connecting us all. I think we all need that, now more than ever.” – Rosie Brooks, Illustrator
